Sedalia Young Professionals, Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce to host mixer

SEDALIA, Mo. (June 6, 2016) – Sedalia Young Professionals and the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce will host a mixer at the Sedalia Country Club, 5074 state Route Y, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15.

The event provides a great opportunity to meet new people and network with local business people in the community. Dress is business casual. There will be a cash bar.

Attendees do not have to be a member of SYP to attend or the Sedalia Chamber to attend. Please RSVP to Susan at susan@sedaliachamber.com.

SYP announces fall food drive results

Sedalia Young Professionals donate almost 600 pounds of food to Open Door

SEDALIA, Mo. (Dec. 29, 2015) – Sedalia Young Professionals had another successful fall food drive, as it collected almost 600 pounds of food for Open Door Ministries’ food pantry.

Thanks to the generosity of the Sedalia community, SYP members were able to collect canned goods through a Nov. 12 food drive at Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway Blvd. SYP also collected $139.83 in monetary donations to give to Open Door.

“We’re glad our second annual fall food drive was a success so we could help local families in need during the holiday season,” said SYP President Kevin Wade.

Donations were also collected by employees at Sierra Bullets and a donation box was placed at Reader’s World in the State Fair Shopping Center.

Sedalia Young Professionals to host annual food drive

SEDALIA, Mo. (Nov. 10, 2015) – The Sedalia Young Professionals invites the community to help collect food for Open Door Ministries Food Pantry by participating in its second annual fall food drive.

SYP members will collect food at both entrances of Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway Blvd. in Sedalia, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 and Tuesday, Nov. 17. They will have large boxes waiting to be filled by Sedalia residents with non-perishable food items needed by those served at Open Door’s food pantry in Sedalia. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

SYP’s 2014 fall food drive collected about 800 pounds of food to donate to Open Door.
